The journal covers all areas of natural products research including isolation, structural and stereochemical determination, biosynthesis, biological activity and synthesis.

Areas covered include enzymology, nucleic acids, genetics, chemical ecology, carbohydrates, primary and secondary metabolism and analytical techniques.
Two types of articles are published in NPR:
Review articles can be a comprehensive overviews of an area or an in-depth critique of a more specialist area of work. These articles can be up to 25 pages in length.
Highlight articles are shorter, non-comprehensive reviews which give a 'snapshot' of a specialist research area. These articles are generally between 4 and 6 pages in length.
Articles in NPR are generally solicited by members of the editorial board, and synopses for all proposed reviews are considered by the board before full articles are commissioned.
If you have an idea for a review which you would like the editorial board to consider, any suggestions for the journal, or if you would like to discuss anything with the editor, please contact us at the address below.
