Giulio Jori
Giulio Jori has been Professor of Bio-organic Chemistry since 1976 and is Head of the Laboratory of Photobiology at the Department of Biology, University of Padova. Research in the Jori group is focused on the mechanisms of photosensitised processes in biological systems with specific interest in medical applications (photodynamic therapy of tumours and microbial infections), as well as in the development of environmentally friendly photobiological approaches (decontamination of microbially polluted water and sunlight-activated agents for the control of noxious insects in the larval and adult stage).
