RSC booth proves a hit at the 42nd IUPAC Congress
14 August 2009

The RSC presence at the 42nd IUPAC Congress, held in Glasgow at the beginning of August, proved popular with delegates. During the week many visited the bustling RSC stand and the neighbouring booth dedicated to ChemSpider.
Something for everyone
At the RSC stand visitors collected sample copies of RSC Journals, learnt about new titles soon to be added to the collection, picked up bargains in our book sale and purchased chemistry themed puzzles as souvenirs. Many delegates took the opportunity to sign up for RSC membership and there was also the opportunity to speak with staff from the Pan Africa Chemistry Network and the RSC Roadmap: initiatives run by the RSC to support and drive future developments in the chemical sciences.
Delegates were invited to enter a prize draw to win an iPod Touch - the winner has been selected at random and sent their prize.
Along came a spider
On the ChemSpider stand, delegates searched for molecules, curated and deposited data and took part in the ChemSpider game. The feedback was extremely positive, with comments including, 'Way better than Scifinder' and 'Do you realize how much this will do for the world of chemistry?'.
