Peking University Centenary Celebrations
17 May 2010
The College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering (CCME) at Peking University (PKU) has reached its 100th birthday this year!
To mark this milestone the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) would like to join PKU in celebrating their contribution to chemistry research worldwide, by collating together papers published by the RSC from PKU chemists. We are delighted to announce that these papers will be free to access (until the end of June) to everybody across the world, showcasing all the top quality research from PKU that has been published by the RSC within the last fifteen years.
CCME was originally founded as the Chemistry Division of the Imperial University of Peking, which is the oldest chemistry department in China. CCME now comprises of five academic departments and five research institutes, whilst also hosting two state key laboratories, two Ministry of Education key laboratories and one defence key laboratory. In 2003, Beijing National Laboratory for Molecular Sciences was established by CCME in conjunction with the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and was constructed formally in December 2007.
With such important developments in Science and Technology in China, chemistry has become an important subject in day-to-day life. Over the years, academic chemistry researchers at Peking University have published hundreds of papers with the RSC, which have been listed below.
As an international publisher, the RSC is proud to support Chinese chemistry research and has really seen Peking University become an important part of the international research family.
