If EPS output from Illustrator proves unsatisfactory, then save in TIF format. To make sure your image is saved in an RSC-compatible format, perform the following steps:

  1. Once the illustration is finalised, print your image out as a final size and quality check.
  2. From the "File" menu, click on "Export...". In the "Export" dialogue box that appears, set the "Files of type:" pull-down menu to "TIF - TIFF Bitmap", and enter a logical name in the "File name:" box (see below). Make sure that the "Compression type:" pull-down menu is set to "LZW Compression". The click "Export".

  3. In the "Bitmap Export" dialogue box use the settings shown below. Choose a "Color" setting that suits the image you have created - Black and White, Grayscale, RGB Color or CMYK Color. Take care to set the resolution to 600 dpi for both axes. Then click "OK".
