2.0 - Modifying an existing image
To modify an existing file so that it is RSC-compatible, perform the following steps:
- From the "File" menu select "Open". Select the file you wish to modify, then click "Open".
- From the "File" menu, select "Document Setup...", and set the "Height" and "Width" values as shown below. The "Width" value shown (8.3 cm) is for single column width illustrations. For double column width images use a "Width" of 17.1 cm.

- Use the "Page" tool to adjust the page boundary placement so that all of the new page created in step (ii) is printable. See the Illustrator Help files for more details on this (you may need to make the "Artboard" visible to see the boundaries).
- Rescale and rearrange your image to fit within and make good use of the page width available. Once the images have been sized, it is a good idea to change the font size of any lettering to 7 point.
