1.0 - Applying RSC settings to a graph


To create a graph that is RSC-compatible, perform the following steps:

  1. First create your graph, and save it in KaleidaGraph format.
  2. From the "Plot" menu, select "Set Plot Size...". In the dialogue box that appears, set the "Units:" to "cm", and the "Frame Size:" to "8.30" (or "17.1") (see below). Click "OK".

  3. From the "Format" menu, select "Text Options...". In the dialogue box that appears, click on "Select All Label Types", then set "Font:" to "Arial", "Times New Roman" or "Helvetica", and "Size:" to "7" (see below). Click "OK". NB: It may be necessary to edit the contents of a caption for the text settings to apply fully.

  4. From the "Plot" menu, select "Plot Style...". For each line and marker used in the graph, set the "Marker Size:" to "7" and the "Width" to "H" (see below). Click "OK".

  5. Rearrange your graph or chart so that it fits within and fully uses the width now available. You may need to re-italicise etc. some text in captions.
