Use the Communication template for:

• communications only 

Use the Report template for:

• articles for Faraday Discussions
• reports for Annual Reports
• Specialist Periodical Reports 

Use the Article template for:

• articles (including Edge articles, except for Faraday Discussions)
• all other paper types
