Rules and Conditions


  • Run biennially
  • Open to UK and Commonwealth based scientists
  • Candidates may nominate themselves 
  • Candidates should be in mid-career, i.e. aged 55 or under.  The age specified is intended to guide nominators and selection panelists; appropriate consideration will be given to those who have taken career breaks or followed different study paths.
  • Winners are chosen by the RSC Environment, Sustainability and Energy Forum Awards Committee
  • Winners receive £500, a medal and certificate
