Innovation Awards 2007


The winners of the RSC Innovation Awards 2007 were presented by Iain Gray, CEO Technology Strategy Board on the evening of the 17th April at Burlington House in front of an audience of senior industrialists and entrepreneurs.

This year saw an impressive breadth and quality of award applications, from both small and large companies across the chemistry using sector.   With the winners all demonstrating the importance of collaboration, across teams, academia and industry for the successful inception and application of innovation.

Teamwork in Innovation 2007

The team behind the Active Protection System, a smart impact protection textile has won Teamwork in Innovation award.

Creativity in Industry 2007

John Irven Director of Technology, Air Products was the winner of the Creativity in Industry award for his contribution to innovation.

Chemistry World Entrepreneur of the Year 2007

The deserved winner of the Chemistry World Entrepreneur of the Year award for 2007 was Harren Jhoti, Founder and CEO Astex Therapeutics.
