Teamwork in Innovation 2007

Winner - Dow Corning Ltd 

The team behind the Active Protection System, a smart impact protection textile has won Teamwork in Innovation award.  The Dow Corning team was praised for their innovative approach both technical and commercial; moving the company into new markets from a chemical supplier to producers of finished goods.  Products include motorcycle kit and military applications with sportswear being developed with the University of Loughborough.

Highly commended - Merck and Imperial College, University of Strathclyde and Stanford University 

The Merck collaboration developed a low temperature, printable alternative to amorphous silicon for display backplates. With collaboration central to their success, the science and commercial potential has deservedly received accolades and recognition by the press and scientific journals
