About the Winner


Charlotte is currently a Medicinal Chemistry Investigator in the Respiratory Therapy Area at GlaxoSmithKline. Since joining the company in 2001, Charlotte worked on a range of programmes and made significant contributions to the discovery of three clinical candidates as potential medicines for the treatment of distressing conditions such as Huntingdon's disease, asthma, allergic rhinitis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She is a co-author on 9 publications and 14 patents and in 2011, was recognised by the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry as runner-up, Young Medicinal Chemist in Industry. 

Charlotte graduated from the University of Bristol (1st class, MSCi), receiving a Salter's Prize and runner-up for the SET Best Chemistry student (2001).
