Homogeneous Catalysis on the Shoulders of Giants

In the 1960's a Group of talented individuals began raising the bar in terms of the development and opportunities for the commercial application of Homogeneous Catalysis. Over the next, 30 years progress in the area was rapid and substantive leading to a platform of knowledge from which the whole community has benefitted. The author was fortunate to be able to take advantage of this exciting work and will discuss his research in the light of the knowledge that was generated by these pioneering chemists.
