Science and the Scottish Parliamentary Elections
The Royal Society of Chemistry hosted its annual Science and the Parliament event on Wednesday 10 November 2010 in Our Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh.
The event brought together MSPs, civil servants, and a wide range of people from the scientific community in Scotland to inform decision makers of some of the important scientific endeavours taking place in Scotland.
Over 300 delegates attended, and over 30 scientific organisations had an exhibition display.
The theme of this year's event was looking forward to the Scottish Parliamentary Elections due in May 2011 and identifying issues and policies which the scientific community would like to see incorporated into the Election Manifestos of the major political parties.
The event was chaired by the President of the RSC, Professor David Phillips. Major contributions to the proceedings included Professor Anne Glover, Chief Scientific Adviser to the Scottish Government.
