House of Commons Science & Technology Select Committee

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) orchestrated a movement to persuade the government to set up a wide-ranging cross-cutting Commons select committee covering science and technology as a result, a letter signed by five of the top science organisations was sent to the Leader of the House of Commons, Harriet Harman

On Wednesday 24 June 2009 It was announced that the Government has finally agreed to create a House of Commons Science & Technology Select Committee. This is a major success with beneficial consequences for science.
