The Comprehensive Spending Review 2007
16 October 2006
The Treasury is in the process of collecting submissions to the 2007 Comprehensive Spending Review which will set spending expenditure limits for government departments for 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11.
The RSC submission sets out what the Society considers to be the key investment priorities in the chemical sciences necessary to fulfil the objectives set out in the Government's 10 Year Investment Strategy for Science and Innovation which the Society supports.
This includes funding which covers the full cost of providing laboratory based courses in higher education, the recruitment, training and development of appropriately qualified school science teachers and the provision of excellent school laboratories across the UK.
