Lone Working & Laboratory Activities
04 July 2005
Enquiries received by the Royal Society of Chemistry suggest there is a need for advice on lone working in laboratories. More generally lone working is an issue that is likely to be of particular concern when workforce numbers are reduced.
This Note provides advice on the health and safety issues raised by lone working in laboratories. It is aimed primarily at RSC members and others who manage staff working in isolation in laboratories, and associated storage areas, workshops, plant, sampling location points and other work areas. This Note does not provide a full or definitive guide and readers are urged to obtain more detailed information if this is required.
