The International Centre for Conservation Education produce a range of audio visual resources for secondary schools and general audiences. The teaching resources have been developed by teachers and environmental education experts and are thoroughly tested in the classroom; each pack includes copyright free masters of work cards and work sheets; cross curricular resources with specific relevance to science and geography programmes of study; and are produced with the support of the Department of the Environment. The resource sets come in either colour slides/script notes/photocopy masters or VHS video/script notes/photocopy masters.
This resource pack considers the main issues surrounding one of the most controversial and damaging by-products of the industrial revolution namely acid rain. Forests, fisheries and drinking water supplies throughout Europe, including Britain, Canada and Scandinavia, are being adversely affected. This programme makes sense of the chemistry of acid rain and puts the biological, economic and political aspects of the problem into perspective.
