The UK prime minister, David Cameron, has pledged to double funding for dementia research by 2015 to tackle what he calls a 'national crisis'. This is part of a plan to make the UK a world leader in dementia research and care. Alzheimer's Research UK said in a statement that the investment could be the turning point in the battle to defeat dementia.
