April 2008 Chemistry through the lens

Rat hippocampal astrocytes stained for tubulin (red), Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) (green) and DNA (blue) imaged using an IN Cell Analyzer by Janet Cuy of Millipore, US. This was a featured image in the IN Cell image 2007 competition organised by GE Healthcare, and supported by BioTechniques. Such cultured astrocytes are used in drug toxicity screening.
