Now you can view the popular Chemistry through the lens image online, as well as in print. And this month, there are two images to enjoy: both entries in the Materials Research Society 'Science as art' competition.

'Nanoexplosions': Colour-enhanced scanning electron micrograph of an overflowed electrodeposited magnetic nanowire array (CoFeB), where the template has been subsequently completely etched, by Fanny Beron, Polytechnic School of Montreal, Canada. This image was one of the entries awarded second place in the Materials Research Society (MRS) 'Science as art' competition as its Fall 2007 meeting in Boston, US.

'Beauty of Nature': SEM image of CuInSe2 film with Cu2Se (plates) and InSe (needles) crystals on the surface, by Olga Volobujeva, Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia.
