'Crystal tinsel' - an entry by Sharvari Dalal in the Microsoft photography competition at the department of engineering, University of Cambridge, UK. This scanning electron micrograph shows ZnO nanowires grown on carbon fibres and has been adjusted for contrast and brightness, the image has also been coloured.
