Dr Chris Smith
A doctor and scientist, Dr Chris Smith is currently a clinical lecturer in Virology in the Department of Pathology at Cambridge University. Founder of The Naked Scientists, a group who use radio, live lectures and the internet to strip science down to its bare essentials and promote it to those outside the traditional academic setting, he believes that their basic goal "is to help people enjoy science as much as we do and, at the same time, to have fun." The Naked Scientists host a live weekly one hour interactive science radio talk show for the BBC. Dr Smith is now a regular science and medical commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live, contributes to BBC Radio 4 and has appeared on national TV for the BBC, Channel 4 and Sky News.
