| Visual Elements has toured throughout UK and Eire over the past five years. The exhibition has featured in a number of arts and science festivals, and being flexible in size and scale, has shown at a broad range of venues as varied as the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow, Thinktank, Birmingham, the Department of Trade and Industry, London and Trinity College, Dublin. |

The exhibition comprises :
The Periodic Table - (PDF 3.8MB) - a large scale visual interpretation of the periodic table including individual rendered representations of all 109 elements and their respective families. Each element is represented by a digital ink-jet print and the entire table arranged accordingly. The scale of the finished work is 3.2 x 4.6m. |

| The Periodic Landscapes - a series of computer generated landscape views based on relationships and patterns within the periodic table such as ionisation energies and atomic mass. The various values were extrapolated from bar charts to create a 3-dimensional landscape view of the table. The Periodic Landscapes currently exist as a suite of 16 original digital prints. Also included is a 15 minute video featuring a computer generated fly through of four landscapes shown on free standing monitors or video projection screens. Appropriate wall-based explanatory text is also provided in conjunction with a free A5 colour booklet. |

| Lightboxes- a series of 4 works which focus upon selected elements from the periodic table. These works are presented in the form of 28 x 28 wall mounted or free standing lightbox units for maximum visual impact. The elements featured are: |

| Animation DVD projected computer animated sequences focusing upon 33 selected elements within the periodic table - in effect a travelogue of the patterns and relationships between the elements and intended as the visual core of the installation. Primarily intended as an arresting and engaging introduction to some of the other featured exhibits, the projection is approximately 40 mins duration, set to continuous loop and including text - explanatory signposts where applicable. Sound Commissioned soundtrack and soundscape (8 channel) to compliment video/animation sequences and gallery installations. A 20 minute version of the soundtrack is available on the Visual Elements CD-ROM. |
