Visual Elements at Thinktank also included an exhibition of the Chemsoc Timeline (pictured running along the left wall) - a fascinating insight into key scientific events and discoveries since the Big Bang - with has a particular focus on chemistry many of the images are based on the discovery of an element.

Installed to the right of the Chemsoc Timeline are the four lightboxes representing Hydrogen, Nickel, Promethium and Plutonium.
Pictured above is the Visual Elements Periodic Table. It is available for exhibition in two forms; as a free-standing screen (as above) or as 110 individual glazed inkjet prints. You can also view of the Visual Elements Periodic Table on-line (PDF 3.8MB)
The Periodic Landscapes - (above) - a series of computer generated ‘landscape’ views based on relationships and patterns within the periodic table such as ionisation energies, and masses of the atoms. The various values were extrapolated from bar charts to create a 3-dimensional ‘landscape’ view of the table. The Periodic Landscapes currently exist as a suite of 16 Iris gliclée prints of which all framed pieces were displayed at Thinktank.
The landscapes images are complemented by a series of computer-animated fly throughs as featured on the monitor in the above picture.
