Green chemistry: introduction

This resource is the result of a collaboration between the Royal Society of Chemistry, the American Chemical Society and the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemie. Three versions are available, customised for each country, and with content appropriate to that country.

US version | German version

In the United Kingdom it can be used to support post-16 and undergraduate chemistry courses and gives up-to-date contexts for the study of topics such as yield, areas of organic chemistry, and intermolecular forces.

Additional background reading is provided, as are references for teachers and students to explore Green Chemistry in more detail.

The resource builds on the RSC resource ‘Green Chemistry’ produced for 14 – 16 year old students and their teachers. For further details click here.

It is further supported by the website ‘A Greener Industry’ developed as a collaborative project by the Chemical Industry Education Centre (CIEC) at the University of York, Rhodia, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the Salters’ Institute of Industrial Chemistry. For further details click here.
