An approach to the synthesis of organically templated open-framework metal sulfates by the amine–sulfate route

Abstract

The first organically templated cadmium sulfates, [C4N2H12][CdCl2SO4]·H2O and [C4N2H12]4[Cd3Cl10(SO4)2(H2O)]·3H2O, consisting of infinite linear chains and a quasi-2D layer formed by strip-like units respectively, have been synthesized and characterized.
