Directors of Undergraduate Teaching Policy

Introduction
This meeting brings together directors of undergraduate chemistry teaching in UK universities to discuss policy issues that affect the sector and share examples of best practice.

If you would like to give a short presentation (5-10 minutes) on how your department uses learning analytics to improve student performance, please contact Dr Izzie Radford by January 31st 2015.

The meeting will run from 10:30am to 4:00pm and include the following topics:

Practical A-Level reform
A discussion session on the impact of the new A-Level practical pass/fail regime on university admissions and first year lab classes, to which UG admissions tutors are invited.

Recognising and rewarding excellence in teaching innovation and research
A workshop to examine how teaching and pedagogic research should be assessed, recognised, rewarded and promoted.

Learning analytics
A series of short presentations on how learning analytics are being used in the UK to improve student success.

Higher Education Learn Chemistry
A brief presentation on recent changes to the HE Learn Chemistry site, strategy and working practices, followed by an interactive workshop exploring new resources and ideas for potential future developments.
