Topical Research Meeting on Hybrid Quantum Systems

16 - 18 December 2014, Nottingham, United Kingdom

Introduction
The meeting will cover all aspects of hybrid quantum systems involving atoms, light, and matter. It will link theory to experiment and range from fundamental physics to the development of new quantum device concepts and technologies.

Speakers leading groundbreaking research on hybrid quantum systems will be invited. To encourage and facilitate the participation of early-career researchers and PhD students, short contributed talks, a poster session, and industrial engagement form key aspects of this meeting. Further key features are a discussion and summary session to explore quantum technologies emerging from the fusion of atoms, light, and matter, discuss funding opportunities, and identify ways to maximise the benefits from recent UK investments.

Topics:

All aspects of hybrid quantum systems, for example:

•Light-matter interactions
•Atom-matter interactions including atom and ion chip traps
•Hybrid systems for nano and quantum metrology
