Waste not, want not at Farington Waste Recovery Park

Introduction
Come and find out how Farington waste recovery park diverts up to 75% of the waste it receives away from landfill. Take a tour via a fully enclosed walkway students around the waste management area, see the separation of recycled materials, find out how compost is produced and electricity is generated. Plus take part in a hands-on session to see how chemistry is involved in the analysis of waste.

Students will need to bring their own lunch and as part of Global Renewable's "zero waste packed lunch challenge" they need to ensure everything from their lunch can be recycled, reused or composted - including the packaging.
