International Women's Day Career Symposium

9 March 2016 10:30-18:00, Hull, United Kingdom

Introduction
This day-long symposium will provide essential career information for undergraduates and current PhD students, aiming to give them the skills to maximise their chances of progressing in both academic and non-academic careers, and to highlight the diverse range of careers available following postgraduate research.

The conference is intended for men and women to attend; both celebrating International Women's Day and to offer valuable information on career advancement to all PhD students and undergraduate finalists, as well as providing a stage for high profile research being undertaken by world-leading female scientists.

We will be hosting talks by prominent chemists currently working in all areas of research, as well as flash presentations by PhDs and Post-Docs. The day will also feature two workshops, featuring panels of experts discussing career options following postgraduate study, and enhancement of your employability during a PhD. There will be exhibitions from our partner companies; as well as lunch provided. We will be hosting a poster prize at the end of the day with wine, and real ales brewed by our local expert and lecturer in the department.

For more information, or to register, please contact symposium organisers Francesca Bryden (F.Bryden@hull.ac.uk) and Guy Entract (G.Entract@hull.ac.uk)
