With the Scottish Government currently undertaking a number of consultations on the design of the Scottish Energy Efficiency Programme following the recent publication of its draft energy strategy, this seminar will provide a timely opportunity to discuss the policy priorities for improving energy efficiency in Scotland.

Delegates will discuss the key issues for domestic energy efficiency within Scotland, including the possible avenues for finance and investment, the role of the Energy Company Obligation in reducing fuel poverty; and opportunities for reducing energy demand through district heating, retrofitting and sustainable design.

Further sessions will focus on how the Scottish Government can meet long-term carbon emissions targets through improvements in industrial and commercial energy efficiency, focusing on technological improvements, funding strategies and business engagement.

We expect speakers and other delegates to be an informed group including members of the Scottish Parliament, senior government officials involved in this area of public policy, together with representatives from the energy supply and efficiency sectors, local government, business and academia, finance and legal, environmental and consumer groups along with further interested parties.
