Mentor Training

28 March 2017 11:00 - 24 October 2017 17:00, Cambridge, United Kingdom

This event is for RSC Members only

Introduction
We will be running 4 further training sessions in 2017 to train more mentors as part of our award winning scheme.

Why be a mentor?
Mentoring is valuable to both mentees and mentors.

Mentors find the experience of helping another member rewarding as they help them to grow and 'address their own challenges, considering their relationships at work and thinking of the future'.

The benefits of mentoring
Being mentored has helped our members to:
  • achieve greater clarity around their career goals and how to achieve them
  • learn more about themselves
  • gain greater self-confidence and self-belief
  • pursue personal and professional development and practical learning
  • improve relationships with their colleagues and their performance in their current role.
One member described how having a mentor has given him the opportunity to think about his career: It’s always useful to think about my goals and setting myself objectives. 'Everyday life' often prevents me from doing this and so this has given me an opportunity to do so.

We will be running training for mentors from 11am-5pm on the following dates and locations:
  • York - 28th March
  • Cambridge - 26th April
  • London - 28th June
  • Birmingham - 24th October
If you are interested in becoming a mentor and would like to register interest in the training, please email careers@rsc.org and we will send you an invite.

Mentees
can also register their interest at careers@rsc.org as we will be running short briefing sessions for mentees on the same dates.
