River Weaver - A Meander Through Time

12 July - 9 September 2017, Nantwich, United Kingdom

Introduction

12 July 2017 – 9 September 2017, Nantwich Museum, Pillory Street, Nantwich, CW5 5BQ.
Free admission, 10.30-16.30 Tue-Sat.

This exhibition explores the historical and present-day significance of the River Weaver in south Cheshire to communities, industry and the environment. Topics will include the impact of man’s activities on water quality and wildlife, and the sustainable use of river water to provide power.  An audio-visual programme will chart the course of the river and its moods, and a Turner print will be displayed.

There will be talks and walking tours, plus a community focused science day (29th July) organised in collaboration with scientists from Keele University's Sustainability Hub, designed to collect important data about the water quality of the Weaver.

Sponsorship from RSC North Staffordshire Local Section has contributed to development of materials for this exhibition.
