Postgraduate Symposium XI: biological and medicinal chemistry symposium for postgraduates

Introduction
Synopsis
The RSC-BMCS (Biological and Medicinal Chemistry Sector) will host its eleventh postgraduate symposium for PhD students and post-doctoral workers researching in biological or medicinal chemistry and related areas.  Researchers working in these areas are invited to participate.

Outline Programme
Registration will open at 9 am, and talks will start at 10 am.

The day will consist of 11 oral presentations (8 students, 3 keynotes) plus a flash poster section.  Each 20-minute student talk will be followed by 10 minutes for questions.  Throughout the day, there will be keynote talks from industrial and academic chemists.  A buffet lunch will be provided to accompany the poster session.

Abstracts
Those who are interested in presenting relevant PhD or post-doctoral work are asked to submit a half-page abstract by Friday, 15th September in addition to registering. Those selected by the BMCS committee to give oral presentations will be notified by 3rd November.

Submit abstracts to Dave Alker by 15th September using the abstract template.

Travel expenses will be reimbursed to speakers.

Registration
This event is FREE, but all attendees were required to register as soon as possible and no later than by Friday, 1st December.   

Prizes
The BMCS judges will award prizes to some participants. There will be prizes of £300 for the best oral presentation and of £150 for the best poster. These will be celebrated at the end of the day.
