Why Crystals and Crystal Engineering Matter to the Real World

29 November 2018 18:00-20:00, London, United Kingdom

Introduction
Crystal engineering offers a paradigm shift from methods traditionally used in materials discovery and development.  It enables custom-design of the right crystalline material for the right application. Emphasis will be placed on recent developments for porous materials (carbon-capture) and multi-component crystals (for use as drug substances). The lecture will conclude with a discussion of how the science of crystal engineering might impact patenting of new crystal forms and validity of existing patents.

Refreshments (tea, coffee, wine & cheese) will be available from 18:00 and the talk commences at 18:30.
