The 9th Asian Conference on High Pressure Research (ACHPR 9)

24 - 27 July 2018, Singapore, Singapore

Introduction
The 9th Asian Conference on High Pressure Research (ACHPR 9) will take place in Singapore from July 24 to 27, 2018. ACHPR has convened scientists every second year since 2000 and it aims to offer an important platform for exchanges among young and experienced researchers at the high pressure research community in Asia as well as worldwide.

As a new dimension in sciences, high pressure technology can efficiently alter the structures, morphology, properties of materials and, thus, provide exciting opportunities to explore new materials, new physics, novel phenomena, and exotic states of matter. Materials of interest range from conventional molecular/covalent/ionic solids to advanced optoelectronic nanomaterials, from electron correlated systems to energy harvesting/storage materials. As an interdisciplinary science, high pressure research encompasses virtually all branches of physics including the condensed matter physics (novel phase transition/quantum phase transition), material sciences (high-pressure chemical reactions, high-pressure synthesis of crystals), earth and planetary science (major phases of mantle minerals), biology and soft matter (high-pressure studies of protein folding). The ACHPR 9 will review the latest advances and developments in above related topics.
