The 3rd Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) Forum on Global Challenges and Chemistry Solutions: Energy

16 September 2018, Hefei, China

Introduction
With Global change creating enormous challenges relating to energy, food and climate change, an action is both needed and urgent. Addressing these challenges means advancing fundamental scientific knowledge, supporting excellence in chemical science research and maximising the number of future breakthroughs.

The Royal Society of Chemistry is committed to ensuring that the chemical sciences contribute their full potential to tackling the major global challenges of today and tomorrow. By working in partnership with professional bodies, academics and industry across the world, we endeavour to foster new interdisciplinary research networks, to identify emerging areas of research to provide environmentally and economically sustainable solutions.

This forum of series, design to provide an opportunity for scientists to acquire an insight into chemistry solutions to global challenges and to be inspired by the innovative and thought to provoke ideas from top researchers in China, comprises a unique format in Chinese of six plenary lectures and a panel discussion session.

The third of the FRSC forum series, to be held on 16th September 2018, will be focusing on the important topic of “energy”. As the world moves towards a sustainable energy future, chemistry will have a role to play in harnessing environmentally sustainable energy supplies, exploring new sources of energy and improving the efficiency of power generation, transmission and use of all energy sources. Our eminent speakers will present their views on how research in energy chemistry can contribute to solve societal issues and help to create a sustainable world.
