KRUSS Training Seminars in Contact Angle and Surface Tension

Introduction
The seminars focus on providing, not just the underlying theory but, hands on, practical training for a variety of surface science techniques used throughout industry and academia. 
 
The sessions will be held at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel in the centre of Bristol. This year our list of speakers includes:
  • Prof. Alexander Bismarck - Professor of Polymer Materials, Imperial College London
  • Prof. Julian Eastoe - Professor of Colloids and Surfactant Science, University of Bristol
  • Dr. Phil Taylor - Industry expert with over 20 years experience in surface chemistry, Syngenta
  • Dr. Thomas Willers - Head of Applications and Science at KRUSS

Talks/practical demonstrations will cover the following topics:
  • Optical contact angle (goniometer)
  • Contact angle via Wilhelmy plate method (tensiometer)
  • Surface free energy
  • Mobile contact angle and surface free energy measurements
  • Liquid needle dosing technology
  • Static surface/interfacial tension
  • Dynamic surface tension
  • Interfacial rheology
  • Foam characterisation


The dates for the seminars are:

September 18th - Surface Tension
September 19th - Contact Angle

Attendees may register for a single day, or both at a reduced rate.
Course fee is includive of; all course materials, refreshements lunch and a course dinner on the18th.
