Teacher Industry visit to British Sugar

Introduction
Find out more about different roles and opportunities related to chemistry available in industry to help you contextualise the science taught in the classroom and share opportunities you’re your students. 

Learn about the sugar industry through a tour of the factory and the science of how sugar is made.  Find out about career options in terms of job roles and career paths at British sugar as well as the apprenticeships and graduate schemes on offer.

You are politely reminded that whilst these events are free to attend, there is a cost to the Royal Society of Chemistry and the organising partner, to set up these events.  If you register and are unable to attend, please give three working days’ notice so that the place can be offered to another teacher.

Important Note

Due to legislative and company requirements for Good Manufacturing Procedure (GMP), You will be required to:
  • Wear clothing that covers the arms and legs
  • Change into protective clothing.  For this we will require:
    • Coat size -unisex sizes S, M, L or XL.
    • Shoe size.
  • Tie back long hair.

Travel Bursaries

A limited number of travel bursaries are available for this event to cover travel costs up to £25.  Email alvir@RSC to find out more.  Please note availability is on a first come first served basis.
