IYPT 2019 Public Lecture: Newcastle

21 October 2019, Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom

Introduction
In celebration of the International Year of the Periodic Table (IYPT 2019), the Royal Society of Chemistry is organising a series of talks at science centres, universities and other venues across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Aimed at the public and established chemists alike, the IYPT Lectures will feature some of the most exciting science communicators in the field of chemistry, whose talks will bring the periodic table of elements to life.

About the lecture

Ever wondered what a superhero eats for breakfast? Or how Iron Man’s suit builds itself? Based on Prof Mark Lorch’s popular science book this demo filled show asks these questions and more to reveal  how sciences might make the superpowers we see in the movies possible.

The Newcastle edition, 'The Secret Science of Superheroes' will be given by Professor Mark Lorch on 21/10/2019, at the Discovery Museum.

There are two lectures during the day, one at 10:30 and one at 13:00. IYPT Lectures are generally timed to last about 40minutes.

Attendance at this event is free and does not require registration. Simply come along!
