Gifted and Talented Chemistry - Polymers

Understanding the formation and properties of polymers gives an insight into how they are used in everyday life. The chemistry involved is varied and links together many aspects of the subject including an introduction to organic chemistry, ions, structure and bonding. The activities that include both practicals and questions help to develop student’s basic understanding of chemical reactions. This programme is also designed to develop students thinking and investigative skills.

This resource will develop questioning skills through problem solving, explore the use of models to expand understanding, develop practical skills and dexterity and promote independent learning and research skills.

The RSC would like to thank Tim Jolliff for the use of his materials in these resources. Tim's book 'Chemistry for the Gifted and Talented' is also available on Learn Chemistry.
