Organic chemistry covers the chemistry of carbon compounds, many of which come from biological or petroleum-based resources. It covers topics such as carbon-carbon bonding and structure, organic functional groups (properties, preparations and reactions), organic mechanisms, stereochemistry and IR & NMR spectroscopy. It forms part of A-Level and undergraduate chemistry in England, and college sophomore chemistry in the US. A set of topic links is shown on the right hand side of this page.
