About RSC Publishing

RSC Publishing is one of the largest and most dynamic publishers of chemical science information in the world. Over 230 people, globally located in offices in Cambridge (UK), Philadelphia (USA), Tokyo (Japan), Beijing and Shanghai (China), are employed in the publishing operation.

Not-for-profit

We are a not-for-profit publisher wholly owned by the Royal Society of Chemistry. Committed to advancing the chemical sciences, any surplus is reinvested in supporting the global scientific community.

Quality content

With a publishing history that dates back to 1841, today RSC Publishing produces a wide range of books/eBooks, databases, journals and magazines.

Our high quality books programme covers the breadth of the chemical sciences, ranging from the highly specialised to educational textbooks and popular science titles.

Our market leading journal portfolio is guaranteed to make an impact:

  • The average impact factor (IF) across our portfolio is 5.4. It's an impressive figure, especially when compared with the average for a chemistry journal* of 2.54.
  • 83% of our titles have an IF over 3.
  • RSC Publishing titles make up 25% of the top 20 journals in the multidisciplinary chemistry category.
  • We have a proven track record in successfully launching new titles: Integrative Biology received a first IF of 4.439*
  • Our authors, readers, and customers are truly international. Over 70 countries were represented in published articles throughout the RSC portfolio in 2010.
