Stereoselective -lactam synthesis via palladium-catalysed intramolecular allylation

A novel route to the synthesis of 3-(tolylsulfonyl)-4,5-cis-disubstituted -lactams using a diastereoselective palladium-catalysed intramolecular allylation of amino acid-derived allylic carbonates has been developed.
