Bulky alkylzinc complexes, (Ttz^tBu,Me)ZnMe and (Ttz^tBu,Me)ZnEt, show remarkable stability towards water and both complexes crystallize with one molecule of adventitious water hydrogen bonded to two triazole rings; in contrast the less bulky complex, (Ttz^Ph,Me)ZnEt, reacts with water to yield (Ttz^Ph,Me)₂Zn.
