About Toxicology Research

Published in partnership with the British Toxicology Society and Chinese Society of Toxicology, this multidisciplinary journal covers both the fundamental and applied physiological aspects of toxicology, including drug toxicology, food toxicity and their mechanisms, responses and risk/safety evaluation.

Dynamic:  The journal is led by a dynamic editorial team of researchers active in the field, including Editor-in-Chief, Nigel Gooderham, Imperial College London.

Visible:  Authors in the field can be assured of wide exposure for their work with free online access to content published during 2012 and 2013.  Open Access publication is available as an option through RSC Open Science.

Innovative:  Chemical structures and data in the journal can be integrated with ChemSpider, the RSC's free chemical structure database, making published work more visible.

Speedy:  Authors benefit from a speedy peer review and publication process, with the option of publishing research as an Accepted Manuscript, making their work available quickly after acceptance.

No page charges:  As well as no page charges, colour reproduction is free online and in print where it enhances understanding of the image.

Article Types

Toxicology Research publishes a mix of full papers, communications and reviews.

Readership

The journal will attract authors and readers from both academia and industry who are conducting research in the field of toxicology.

Scope

Toxicology Research is a multidisciplinary journal focusing on both the fundamental science and applied physiological aspects of toxicology, including drug toxicology, food toxicology and environmental toxicity, and their mechanisms, responses and risk/safety evaluation.  Main research areas include (but are not limited to):

  • Alternatives to animal testing
  • Biomarkers of human toxicity
  • Carcinogenicity
  • Endocrine toxicology
  • Environmental toxicity
  • Genetic toxicology
  • Nanotoxicology
  • Pharmacokinetics
  • Reproductive and development toxicology
  • Risk assessment
  • Toxicogenomics
  • Xenobiotics

The following areas are not within the scope of Toxicology Research:
