Chemical Sciences and Society Summit (CS3) 2011

Tim Bugg CS3
The 3rd annual Chemical Sciences and Society Symposium (CS3) took place 13-15 September 2011, Beijing, China on the theme of 'Chemistry for Better Health'.

A collaboration between an international network of chemical societies and funding organisations, the premise of the summit was to convene a small number of internationally recognised researchers in the field in order to stimulate highly focused and strategic discussions.

The aim of the event was for participants to work together to determine future priorities for research in the area. A science writer has been employed to document the outcomes of these discussions in a white paper, which will be communicated to scientists and policy makers around the world. It is envisaged that the white paper will be launched in January 2012.
