Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology
POST is the UK Parliament's in-house source of independent, balanced and accessible analysis of public policy issues related to science and technology. Their aim is to inform parliamentary debate.
Since its establishment in 1989 and its subsequent incorporation into the Parliamentary establishment, the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) has gained a well-deserved reputation for providing briefing notes for Parliamentarians on a wide range of scientific subjects.
From the very beginning the RSC sought to co-operate actively with POST and its Director, who is a valued member of the Parliamentary Affairs Committee.
The RSC was an initial financial sponsor of POST and very strongly supported the proposal of grant POST proper Parliamentary funding which (since mid-1993) it now receives.
