Textbook series
Textbooks follow a well-defined system and their layout should be followed carefully to ensure their consistency as a series.
They use a vertical grid based on thirds above the branding strip and should carry a primary image that is relevant to the subject they refer to. Paying careful attention to crops and image content will ensure that the visual impact is strong.
Type is always set in Myriad. The tab device can be used to link book series together, as can colour, which is used in the tab, branding strip, back page and key text.
These books carry a branding strip across front, spine and back cover. They carry the special case of the logo on the book spine. Back covers use a set format to ensure continuity across this series and a consistent presentation of the RSC brand.
Please note that the registered charity number should appear on these materials unless approved by Neville Reed or Richard Porte.
